What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly! ~ Peter Pan
Amanda, I had a consultation with you last August following the birth of Isabella. You were so kind and helpful and provided a lot of help and support via email in the weeks after. I was just getting around to doing my receipts the other day and I was thinking how much of a help and support you were in those early, sleep deprived nerve wracking weeks. You’ll be happy to hear that Isabella is almost nine months old and is flying with breast feeding. Very much second nature to us now. I’m enjoying it so much that I’m considering continuing on with maybe a night and morning feed after the 12 month mark when I’m back to work. Anyway that’s besides the point. I really just wanted to email and say thank you again. I really don’t think I’d have persevered with Breastfeeding without your help and support. Definitely the hardest thing I have ever done, but also the most rewarding.
Successfully establishing breastfeeding for me and my son was really hard. I could say challenging; to be totally honest it was really, really hard. I really wanted so deeply for it to work for us. We almost quit. Amanda’s professional and caring suppport helped us succeed. She gave us fantastic practical tips and techniques as well as such wonderful encouragment. It was just what we needed at the time. I cannot recommend her highly enough. We are still breastfeeding now at 10 months and thankfully flying it. Thank you so much Amanda we will always appreciate your guidance, knowledge, care and support.
Amanda, I just wanted to say thank you so much for this morning. I just wish I’d booked the appointment sooner 😊 it was so informative, and so useful, and just great to get both the reassurance on what’s going well, and the guidance on positioning, and how I can best help my baby at this time.
Thanks so much Amanda for a wonderful workshop. Mark and I found it extremely helpful - you just don’t know what you don’t know! I feel so much more prepared now. I’m re-watching the videos from the class again and am really looking forward to putting everything I’ve learned into practice. Having you there should we have any worries is very reassuring.
I’d just like to say a huge thank you for the wonderful support that you’ve given me and the twins since their birth. Liam has come on leaps and bounds and is finally becoming a boobie monster like his brother Niall. I am so proud of myself and know that without your support and expertise, there’s no way I would have made it this far.
So informative and helpful. Learned alot and a really friendly setting where no question is silly. Would highly recommend.
Amanda supported me and baby through our struggles with low milk supply, nipple confusion and mastitis. So many times I was about to give up but every time I received encouragement from Amanda (and not just the, oh carry on, you’ll be fine sort of advice) with practical advice on how to make things easier. I have a toddler also so Amanda set me up with an SNS (a feeding tube that goes from the bottle of expressed milk to the breast and into baby’s mouth) which helped free up time and kept my baby where she belonged - at the breast. My only regret is that I didn’t get in touch with her earlier because I’m sure our journey back to exclusive breastfeeding would have been a lot sooner and I would have saved myself some tears.
We thought the class was amazing! Gerry is almost as excited about helping me to breastfeed as I am about putting all I’ve learned into practice. It’s so reassuring to know that we can contact you if we’ve any questions. Thanks a million Amanda. I’ll be recommending you to all my pregnant friends.
Amanda, just a few lines to let you know how much Lorraine and I appreciated the time you spent with us last week. You left two much more capable and confident parents behind you. Being able to recognise when Joshua is actually drinking milk and knowing what to do when he isn’t, has made a huge difference. He was weighed this morning and gained 10oz! You can tell that Lorraine has been pretty much feeding non-stop but she’s delighted that she can do this for Joshua. Again, thank you so much for all your help.
Thank you so much for seeing us on Monday. I am very grateful for the evidence based and non-judgemental advice and support that you gave during the consultation. I only wish I had known about you when I had my first baby three years ago. I am certain you could have saved our breastfeeding journey from its traumatic, premature end. I know it was an unintended outcome of the consultation, but you actually helped me make peace with a few things from that time. I am very very grateful for that. I will be telling all my pregnant friends about you.
It’s been almost a week since I pumped last! Thank you so much for your help and encouragement. I wouldn’t have kept trying only for you! I’ve been out and about with my baby nearly every day since so I feel SO much better than being stuck inside pumping, feeding and sterilising! It’s literally changed by life. Thank you xx
Words can’t describe how grateful we are for all the care and attention you gave us back in November. You literally saved the day! Our baby girl is now a very healthy and happy 3 month old and still fully breastfed. I’m so happy that I’ve been able to do this for her and you had a massive role in that.
A fantastic and educational class I would definitely recommend any expectant mum to attend. Amanda was so nice and professional she made you feel you could ask any question and no question was silly. You receive a very informative pack when you leave and Amanda is there if you have any follow up questions. Well worth the money!
Amanda gave me the confidence I needed to try breastfeeding (and succeed!). I have a medical condition (Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis), and had been told by various people that I probably wouldn’t be able to manage to breastfeed, due to exhaustion levels and disability. A midwife had even told me I shouldn’t bother trying. But Amanda went through everything I needed to know while I was pregnant, and gave me the confidence I needed to give it a try. When my baby was born I was thankfully able to breastfeed with absolutely no problems. For a disabled mother, this was actually the easiest part of caring for a new baby, and gave me time to just sit and rest and cuddle with her. I would recommend any pregnant mother to consult Amanda!
I have not forgotten your kindness and all your sage advice, pre and post birth. I am sure that without your excellent advice I would not have managed to successfully breastfeed. Keep up your excellent work!
Amanda provided us with amazing care. She has this amazing gift to be able to advise and guide you with such great kindness. Her experience as an IBCLC and mother was invaluable to our breastfeeding and parenting journey. She supported us through tongue tie, shallow latches causing damage, blebs etc... I can safely say that without her dedication, friendly approach and mostly her knowledge, I wouldn’t be feeding my 9 months old baby right now... I wish I had attended classes before his birth and will definitely consider getting gift vouchers for new mums or mums to be. Amazing support!
We’re two months in and I’m still breastfeeding my little boy! I am so proud of myself. I know I would have been doubting myself at every hurdle, had I not heard the words from your class in my ears. Paul has been a tremendous support and is so glad I persuaded him to come along to the class. Thank you Amanda for all the calls and support. Your advice has been invaluable to us.
